The Swimming Pool and Spa is exclusively available to guests from noon to 6:00 pm every day of the year except on the day of departure. Should these hours not suit, they may be amended by prior arrangement or, for a small charge, extended. Overlooking the paddock, the pool and spa is accessed either through The Main House or through two external doors next to The Coach House.

The silky feel, the incredible clarity and the lack of chlorine smell are just a few reasons why Bon Accueil has a saltwater pool. The water is kept at a temperature of at least 29ºC. For comfort, the air in the pool hall is dehumidified and set 1ºC above the water temperature and chlorination is via electrolysis. After the water is heated and filtered it then passes through an electrolytic cell which creates chlorine from the salt solution. This provides protection from viruses/bacteria without the harshness or smell of added chemicals. The quality of the pool water is checked regularly and water and air conditioning is on continually during the pool operating hours.

Although the pool is particularly suitable for children (6m by 3.3m and ranging from 0.5m to 1.5m in depth), it's great fun for adults too and it has two swim-jets to provide an exercise current for the more energetic guests! On the other hand, the three spa seats provide a more leisurely enjoyment where guests can soak up the therapeutic hydro-massage. The murals on the pool walls were painted by Robert Tedaldi of "Painted Worlds", as recommended by Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen, no less!

Next to the pool is a small changing room with shower and a separate WC and basin. There is a further changing area next to this which also houses the sauna cabin. This holds up to 2 people at a time and is available to adult guests 24 hours a day.

The sauna is an infra red model - which means that you do not have to suffer incredibly high air temperatures for it to make you sweat! Because infrared penetrates safely and comfortably up to 1¾ inches inside your body, even deep tissue is stimulated, meaning greater perspiration than in a traditional sauna. Hard to reach impurities are eliminated using lower, comfortable temperatures. The sauna also has colour therapy and aromatherapy facilities. Taken together, the heat, aroma and colour all make for a very relaxing session!

Stepping out from the dining room through the French windows you can enjoy the views and sounds of open meadows within a fenced garden behind electric gates. The Coach House has its own electric gates, south facing patio with separate, fenced play area in 6 inches of woodchip with swing, jouster, tower, climbing rope and slide.

Cyclists are welcome and, by prior arrangement, there is secure parking for bikes in the dedicated bike shed or in the garage. There are plenty of local bike rides in the vicinity, to meres and through local mosses, lots with great views over to the nearby Welsh Hills. Walkers are also welcome and there are dedicated boot stands with dehumidifier and a commercial washing machine and two tumble dryers should the weather take a bad turn! Again there are several walks nearby, including along the Llangollen Canal or the Sandstone Trail or Shropshire Way - both passing close to Bon Accueil.

For those with surplus energy there is table tennis, table football and an exercise machine!

Of course, when the weather is really good, there is always the Sun Deck on the first floor of The Main House - just lie back and relax - you're in Shropshire!
